Mission Statement
Help us in Our Fight to Reduce Spiritual Hunger Worldwide!
We thank you for your interest in helping to spread our work throughout the world. 'The Out-of-Body Travel Foundation' strives to keep our Books, CD's and Art downloadable for FREE to anybody in the world. We hear from many of the thousands of people who live in poor countries around the globe who may never be able to purchase a book in print because the cost of the book and shipping to their country would be 50% or more of their yearly income. (Some of them make $50 - $100 or less in a year.) 'The Out-of-Body Travel Foundation' continues to strive to make our Out-of-Body Travel work available to everybody regardless of their financial circumstances. Presently, our works are available to anybody in the world who has access to a computer, including those who don't have their own. Many are able to access our Out-of-Body Travel Books, Music and Art on Library Computers or Computer Cafe's which exist in many of these countries where home computers are not yet widespread. Making and keeping this possible is an expensive venture and we appreciate your gifts and support in order to help fund these efforts to improve the spiritual lives of people around the world.
A Letter to Our Friends
It is never easy to ask for donations for your cause, because we wish so much to just serve those in need and keep the accounting realities to ourselves. However, it is a necessity, because of the real needs of our organization and those things that those who benefit from our work probably do not see or know when they come to our site.
Most Non-Profit Organizations allow those who work for them to receive a salary, we do not do this. Everything I do, and the work of my helpers, is completely volunteer. We often give anywhere from 40 - 80 hours per week of our time maintaining our sites, writing new materials, and making these materials available in a variety of ways so that everyone regardless of means, disabilities or circumstances may benefit. We don't actually have the funds to become a Non-Profit Organization, so we are a sole proprietorship.
We ask nothing for our books, music, videos, magazines, art and even our forums - which as many of you know - are very time-consuming. Due to a promise made to the prophets, saints, mystics and sages - everything is downloadable for free. All of the spiritual gifts that I share openly with those who ask on our forums, is given freely. I was also instructed to place our items in print $1.00 above print and distribution costs.
So it may come as a surprise to some, because many have told me that the way the site is presented it could easily be perceived that we don't need financial help, but we generally only hope to break even at the end of every year between what comes in and our expenses. For years, we invested $10-$15,000 per year in our own funds to get the foundation going, but in the past two years, we have been able to break even on what comes in and what goes out in expenses.
But this comes to us at great cost to ourselves. We work endless hours for free and forego working other jobs. As many of you know, for years, I held four part-time jobs to pay for the expenses of the foundation. But as my health has declined, I have had to stop doing these things and focus entirely on the work I can still do.
Much of what we do also revolves around finding other means of income such as advertising, writing articles for other organizations, etc., to compensate for our vow to the Lord to keep everything freely downloadable and $1.00 above print cost.
We will not violate this vow, and we won't change what we do unless instructed to do so by those selfsame prophets, saints, mystics and sages.
So I guess we're asking those who may have the means to assist us in our work to consider doing so. For those who may have benefited from our books, our spiritual gifts - who have the means - consider making donations to us, one time or on a regular basis to help us continue making these gifts available to everyone around the world - many of whom have no means at all.
For those of you who have no means, no worries. We love you and want to make sure you are always able to receive everything we offer freely regardless of your financial circumstances.
But if you have benefited from our work, if you have received special gifts from the forums, or had special gifts from the Lord Jesus through our forums and Marilynn Hughes to assist you with special issues or to make contact with loved ones who have passed on, AND you have the financial means to do so, please consider helping us with a donation.
We may not look like we need it, but we really do. Without the donations of generous members, we can't do what we do. We will never ask you to pay for any services you receive here, but we hope you will consider donating for those you receive if you are able.
